Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine-Learning methods for the improvement of healthcare industry has been at the forefront of our research, development and production for years. Its success depends on having an efficient framework for servicing Big Data. Working as part of the Big Data Office in Medical Imaging Technologies Team and reporting directly to Senior Manager in Engineering, the employee will be responsible for developing software tools that facilitate data anonymization, collection, validation, curation and maintenance. The Big Data Software Engineer will be a highly flexible, collaborative and innovative individual, committed to providing customized ad-hoc solutions to our data sources and researchers. The incumbent will also be responsible for making sure that all data privacy regulations concerning patient data are complied within the realm of Big Data.







**Responsibilities**







+ Function as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate servicing of Big Data from Healthcare data sources to Siemens Healthineers Artificial Intelligence researchers.



+ Design, develop, test and apply software tools and scripts that allow data collection and anonymization from medical research collaboration sites, comprising of the following tasks:







+ Anonymize medical images of different formats like DICOM, NIfTI and raw pixel data



+ Anonymize unstructured clinical reports



+ Maintain integrity between anonymized medical images and anonymized clinical reports so as to be useful for researchers



+ Make sure the anonymization is done in concordance with HIPAA-HITECH regulations that outline what information is considered Protected Health Information (PHI)



+ Allow ability for data sources to create mapping mechanisms of any anonymization tasks being done



+ Allow users to facilitate an efficient data collection and anonymization process by overlaying an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface







+ Design and develop software tools and scripts that can validate anonymization after receiving the data, so as to make sure all HIPAA-HITECH regulations pertaining to PHI have been met.



+ Design and develop software tools and scripts that are scalable and flexible to curate Big Data and ensure data integrity



+ Analyzing various kinds of medical data, including unstructured data, and proposing how to curate and store into structured data



+ Assist with data analysis and writing analytic reports of the current status of Big Data framework in Medical Imaging Technologies server.



+ Monitor Big Data Office processes so as to improve efficiency of data service life-cycle







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Working towards Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Software Engineering



+ Working knowledge with Python, C++, Javascript



+ Effective communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders and to communicate on complex technical issues with technical and non-technical audiences



+ Great team player with excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and organizational skills



+ Systematic, structured, and pragmatic approach to tasks, with high attention to detail



+ Multi-tasking and comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment



+ Ability to prioritize multiple work topics



+ Keen sense of learning and exploring



+ Ability to acquire new technological skills and resolve problems in a resourceful and timely manner







**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**







+ Exposure or knowledge about HIPAA-HITECH regulations pertaining to Protected Health Information (PHI)



+ Knowledge about data formats of medical images and clinical reports



+ Hands-on experience developing industry-standard Software Tools



+ Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure



+ Experience working with medical data including images and clinical reports



+ Experience in curation, maintenance and processing of Big Data
