**Job Description:**

The Benefits Manager is a subject matter expert specializing in Health & Group Benefits, as well as, Qualified and Non-qualified Retirement Programs. This individual works with a team of specialists to ensure Siemens benefits programs remain competitive, innovative, compliant with legislation and are delivered in a cost-effective manner. This role will also be responsible for integrating acquired populations into Siemens existing programs and processes, as well as, divesting populations in an efficient manner. The Benefits Manager will support both US benefits programs and global benefits initiatives, as needed. The position reports directly to the VP of HR for the Healthineers Business and functionally to the Senior Director of Benefits for North America with the potential to lead a team overtime.

As a trusted partner to business leadership and the broader HR community, this individual will be responsible for the execution of the benefits strategy specifically for the Healthineers Business by implementing global solutions and program design initiatives. A significant component of this role will be the implementation of US benefits strategy.

Key focal points in executing on the preceding will be developing and implementing strategy, policy and governance in an environment undergoing significant transformation. He/she will leverage their deep expertise and strategic insights in collaboration with Business Leadership and Corporate Benefits Leadership to develop high value business solutions in the Benefits areas that are aligned with Company brands and values. This position will require a leader with keen understanding of the business needs and the environment to ensure the global strategy is adapted to the Companys needs as total rewards is a key driver for the attraction and retention of top talent within the organization.


Guides the strategy, design, implementation and administration of existing and new benefit programs along with related benefits communications.

Analyze new and/or existing plans and programs to determine market competitiveness, regulatory compliance, ease of administration, cost effectiveness and alignment with business strategy.

Lead the change management efforts and stakeholder management associated with all program changes.

Provides subject matter expertise to senior leadership and the fiduciary committees.

Provides day to day oversight of direct reports, if applicable, and external service providers with a continuous improvement mindset.

Coordinates with the plan record keeper in administering plan benefits and resolving complex situations.

Ensures external vendors administer benefit plans appropriately and that issues are resolved timely and accurately.

Responsible for interpreting plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) language, understanding and explaining legislative benefit updates, researching and resolving claims/eligibility issues, and providing consultative discussion and resolution to complex benefit situations.

Works closely with legal counsel to maintain plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions

Partners with legal counsel and procurement to create and maintain service provider contracts.

Collaborates with businesses, ERISA counsel, and internal finance organization to support key benefits initiatives (i.e., Corporate Mergers, Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Divestitures).

Supports special projects and benefits initiatives as assigned.

Supports and contributes to the success of Siemens/Healthineers "OneHR" strategy.


BS/BA required with a minimum of 10 years of management experience with large, complex benefits programs in an environment with 10,000+ employees.

People management experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate benefits information across a large organization.

Excellent report writing and presentation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.

Ability to build collaborative business relationships and team-oriented.

Strong attention to detail with sound analytical and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize rapidly in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA,. Section 125, Medicare, IRS & DOL regulations.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

Global benefits experience not required, but a plus.

Travel ~5%.
