AVP Global Strategy- Product Simplification

**Role Value Proposition:** The AVP, Product Simplification will work with Global Strategy and a cross-functional team of senior leaders at MetLife to manage the consolidation of the new product development process globally. The role will also support other aspects of Product Simplification, including reviews of large inforce blocks for product-related savings, and the definition of market-specific solutions in markets with complex product system environments. As a valued contributor, this individual will spend a significant portion of time producing, analyzing and synthesizing information from around the globe. Will lead and participate in numerous team development activities (e.g., peer to peer coaching, mentoring, etc.) to improve capabilities and encourage collaboration across the globe. Will gain invaluable experience working across functions and businesses while engaging with executive and senior level MetLife leaders across the globe.







**Key Responsibilities:**







+ Create and implement a framework that identifies gaps between customer needs and MetLife Solutions



+ Evaluate product pipeline



+ Develop and implement product management best practices



+ Facilitate global sharing of product best practices



+ Monitor product development process rollout and provide periodic improvement



+ Support the VP of product in inforce review and complex markets workstreams



+ Work with the VP of product to prepare and deliver updates to the Executive Group and initiative steering committee



+ Serve as the main liaison for regional product teams, which include product and pricing actuaries



+ Global product coordinator for product simplification initiative







**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**







+ 5+ years of product development or strategic problem solving experience



+ BS or equivalent from a top ranked institution; higher degree MBA/MS a big plus



+ Demonstrate distinctive problem solving and analytical skills (micro- and macroeconomics, finance and advanced modeling skills)



+ Experience in driving to synthesis and developing recommendations; high degree of comfort with ambiguity



+ Show business maturity, have strong presence and possess advanced written and verbal communication skills



+ Prior experience in projects that require detailed execution



+ Exhibit strong collaboration skills and ability to engage across multiple functions and business units



+ Be a self-starter, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously



+ Prior product management or product development experience is a plus



+ Ability to manage consensus at various levels and cultivate strategic internal relationships across a highly matrixed organization.



+ Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities



+ Ability to influence and negotiate without formal direct authority, consultative in approach; diplomatic.



+ Strong team builder, inclusive by nature.



+ Organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities



+ Willingness and ability to travel internationally



+ Flexibility to accommodate working across global time zones.



+ Foreign language skills a positive
