MetLifes Middle Market Private Capital unit manages a direct investment portfolio of mezzanine investments, primarily subordinated and unsecured loans and equity co-investments to private equity or sponsor-backed middle market companies. The unit also selectively invests in mezzanine funds. The unit is seeking an Associate to aid in the origination, due diligence and credit underwriting, execution and portfolio monitoring of mezzanine investments.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Evaluate new transactions and investment opportunities; attend management presentations and review deal terms and credit agreements.

+ Participate in all phases of due diligence including business and quantitative analysis, management presentations and lender meetings, and industry & competitive research.

+ Develop an understanding of the debt capital markets and business including pricing and structure, competitive landscape, deal origination and diligence requirements.

+ Develop financial models including scenario and sensitivity analysis for transactions.

+ Prepare written investment committee memorandum and presentations.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**


+ Undergraduate degree with Finance focus; MBA.

+ Strong analytical/quantitative, credit, accounting and financial statement analysis skills.

+ Ability to construct financial models.

+ A self-starter with a strong work ethic who seeks to help develop a business.


+ 2-3 years of experience - leverage finance and/or transactional experience.
