This position requires experience in applying Electrical Engineering practices to all phases of military fuzing programs, including:

+ Performs research, design, and development in such areas as power conditioning electronics, analog circuit design, digital circuit design, FPGA design, and other general electrical engineering design functions.

+ Applies research to the planning, design, development and testing of electrical circuits for use in military applications.

+ Is capable of generating design schematics preferably with experience using CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics.

+ Compiles and analyzes test data to determine effect of design on electrical circuits for military applications.

+ Develops specifications for and performs selection of components for use in electrical circuits for military applications. Utilizes electrical CAD tools such as Mentor System Vision for circuit performance prediction in aid of circuit development.

+ Oversees board layout and provides pertinent design factors for first pass success on circuit realization.

+ Strong analytical skills and the ability organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.

+ Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a development team to understand system level interdependencies that impact circuit requirements and design constraints.

+ Is comfortable working in a support role to senior design engineers and is an active learner of new design techniques and technologies.


+ Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college; experience in the design, build, and validation of electrical circuits.

+ Experience creating and modeling electrical schematics, evaluate design robustness by simulation and lab testing. Preferably experience with Mentor Graphics design tools.

+ Ability to evaluate and select components that meet the applicable requirements.

+ Experience with power conditioning circuit design and analog design.

+ Prefer familiarity with high reliability design for military applications.

+ Able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Job Summary

Under close direction, perform a variety of basic engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, or testing of electronic hardware. Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to solution of engineering problems. Design and document or select commercially available equipment, coordinate design results with other design groups, evaluate the merits of the design under the direction of more senior engineers.

Job Responsibilities

+ Job Knowledge/Technical Skills - Introductory Understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards.

Technical expertise to complete assigned electrical engineering tasks.

Attends and prepares under close supervision materials to support electrical engineers during Requirements and Design Reviews.

+ Problem Solving/Innovation - With supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering technical principles to solve basic electrical engineering problems.

+ Liaison - Interacts well with other staff/team members, effective at relationships with peers and manager.

Responds in a timely manner to all requests.

+ Requirements Derivation/ Test Development - Establish requirements and procedures to evaluate purchased equipment or EEE parts. Under supervision, supports the testing and/or evaluation/ validation of one or more elements of an electrical component, subsystem, or system analytical model or actual system implementation.

+ Analysis and Design - Under relatively close direction, performs a variety of specific engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature.
