**Job Description:**

**Position Overview:**

Are you ready to roll up your

sleeves and lead a team of system engineers and contribute to development

projects to improve our existing molecular portfolio?

Manage and

mentor a team of 3-4 System engineers in supporting development of IVD

Molecular Diagnostics OEM instrument systems with integrated sample preparation

and real-time PCR instrumentation.

This position

is also expected to provide technical leadership for Liquid handling platforms

and liaison with software teams in their development efforts.

Reports into

the Head of PLM Specialized business unit.



responsibility of the System Engineering group within Siemens Healthineers MDX


Management of intermediate and junior system engineers.

Lead and

contribute to development projects on the Hamilton Starlet where parameters for

different sample types and reagent types are needed to be developed.

Lead and

contribute to development projects on the QuantStudio5s Dx real time PCR


Lead and

contribute to identifying and troubleshooting problems arising from either

process, consumable plastic, reagent, or equipment.


contribute to Software projects as the Systems Engineering lead

Lead and

contribute to Design Control activities: IQ/OQ, Verification and Validations

with authoring of documents and coaching others to do so.

Bringing best

practices in calibration of liquid handling instruments to instrumentation at



knowledgeable about advances in automation that could integrate with Siemens


**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**


Masters Degree in engineering/ bio-engineering with additionally 10 years

industry experience; or Bachelors Degree in engineering/bio-engineering with 14

years industry experience.

Proven ability

to lead and mentor a team of mid-level to junior system engineers to accomplish

multiple projects and keep to timelines.

Able to lead

the team and also independently identify and troubleshoot problems arising from

Handling instrument workflow development and scripting experience a must. Hamilton Vector software versions3.2

and/or 4.4experience required.

Experience using

statisticalanalysis tools and best practices

for experimental design, such as DOE.


successfully completing Verifications and Validations in a GMP / ISO 13485

industry for Design Development or Design Change: authoring protocols and

reports as well as analyzing results. Proven ability to mentor team in these
