The Global Technology & Operations group (GTO) is a diverse team of engineers, developers, business analysts, claims analysts and project managers with the freedom to create innovative and solutions to address core business challenges with MetLife. This role will implement and manage continuous Improvement strategies, processes, and projects using MetLife Way and Lean principles while being accountable for effective problem-solving techniques, Lean systems design, and the design and management of performance improvement initiatives across the organization.







**Key Responsibilities:**







+ Under general supervision, takes responsibility for assigned duties detailed below, and perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor in a timely manner



+ Apply MetLife Way Lean principles to define and implement process improvements (Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Demand & Capacity, Root Cause Problem Solving, Productivity Maintenance)



+ Apply MetLife Way Lean processes to assist in development of new processes and business system requirements



+ Role model for excellence to embed Continuous Improvement within the organization and develop sustainable Continuous Improvement practices within the business.



+ Work with leadership to create an environment for learning, team goal alignment and accountability



+ Identify and remove barriers to continuous improvement initiatives



+ Work with functional and cross-functional business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gathering data, analyzing and developing improvements and innovations using statistical analyses and waste removal techniques



+ Diagnose and evaluate performance (productivity, quality, timeliness & morale) challenges. Associated functions available for analysis will include productivity and demand management and forecasting.



+ Ensure that all business-related items are successfully and professionally communicated to co-workers.



+ Lead and motivate fellow team members that are not direct reports, including various levels of management.



+ Create and manage projects; provide timely status updates to the leadership teams regarding the nature and progress of improvement activities.



+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.







**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**







Required:







+ High School diploma



+ 2+ yrs. of related work experience.







Preferred:







+ Bachelors degree



+ 4+ yrs. of related work experience.



+ Lean Six Sigma



+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal



+ Well-developed relationship building {interpersonal, communication, collaboration} skills, both internally and externally, with customers and vendors



+ Most be able to manage multiple assignments, be organized and efficient while working under minimal supervision



+ Excellent ability to communicate with and influence leadership. Other key skills and attributes required include: self-awareness, self-starter, highly analytical, adaptability, achievement orientation, initiative, organizational/cultural awareness



+ Exhibits flexibility in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment



+ Proficiency with Office Support Tools (Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Access)



+ Strong customer satisfaction focus.
