**Role Value Proposition:**

Reporting to the Finance Lead under Controller Operations, this position will be responsible for coordinating support for SEC filings, including preparing the Management Discussion & Analysis section of the 10Q/K. Partnership with other areas across the organization such as External Reporting and Investment Reporting are critical to success. The Consultant will perform tasks independently with limited supervision and a high degree of accountability, as well as have general insurance and reinsurance business knowledge that enhances their relative contribution to the organization. (S)he will provide direct support to various stakeholders including the Controller, Treasury, ALM, and other functional areas. In addition to the production of key management and financial reporting, this is a highly visible position that requires the ability to think critically and use the appropriate level of judgement to propose value added solutions to potential issues.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Preparation of various sections of the 10K/Q including drafting the Management Discussion & Analysis

+ Prepare financial reporting decks and packages used to present financial results to senior management and board members

+ Review quarter-end and year-end audited financial Statements and footnotes, and

+ Prepare financial reports to comply with regulatory and rating agency requests

+ Initiate process opportunities and implement improved solutions

+ Provide support for Stat preparation of Blue Books and audited financials.

+ Support internal and external audits and Financial Controls/SOX team as required.

+ Perform other general accounting duties as needed.

+ Lead or participate in special projects as required.

+ Present legal entity and product-level results to senior management.

+ Provide accounting/financial reporting guidance and training to lower level analysts as needed

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**

+ 8+ years of experience in US GAAP Accounting financial reporting and analysis.

+ B.A./B.S. in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.

+ CPA, MBA, or CMA highly desired.

+ Proficient in insurance and reinsurance accounting and US Stat.

+ Proficient in US GAAP. Prior experience with FAS 97 and FAS 60 accounting a plus.

+ Knowledge of SAP a plus.

+ Demonstrated strong analytical skills.

+ Ability to work with associates at all levels, including senior management.

+ Ability to produce results, manage projects, and carry out initiatives independently.

+ Effective time management and prioritization.

+ Ability to work within tight time constraints and multiple priorities.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and collaboration.

+ Overtime is required during peak periods.
