Software Solutions Account Executive - Chicago, IL

Account Executive is responsible for helping attract new customers for our product or services. The primary objective of this position is to achieve or exceed the sales goals or target set for each quarter. Sales collaborates with other departments to sell the product and services leaving our customers extremely satisfied.


  • Executes on sales strategy, goals, objectives, and implementation plans to close sufficient new business to achieve sales quotas.

  • Establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.

  • Attends business networking groups representing the company in a positive manner and building relationships with key players.

  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential businesses.

  • Executes on sales activities to establish and enhance market presence and lead flow.

  • Develops and maintains a consistent pipeline and qualify new business leads.

  • Communicates with sales leads and customer by phone or email as soon as possible following the initial contact.

  • Evaluates and responds to formal Requests for Proposal or Requests for Information.

  • Work closely with Sales Engineers to answer technical questions and proactively present the value added our products.

  • Execute marketing initiatives in support of sales activities as needed/requested.

  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service through the sales cycle.

  • Works closely with other departments to ensure completion of the sale and/or customization needs.

  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training, reviewing professional publications.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Will meet the minimum expected timeline and attempts for contacting and following up on our customer leads.

  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive attitude internally and externally


  • Ability to Multi Task: Proven ability to manage multiple issues and/or projects successfully bringing them all to resolution in a timely manner.

  • Problem Solving: Anticipates problems, recognizes and accurately evaluates the signs of a problems and analyzes current procedures for possible improvements.

  • Customer Service: Listens and responds effectively to customer questions; resolves customer problems to the customers satisfaction. Respects all internal and external customers and uses a team approach when dealing with customers in order to exceeding customer expectations.

  • Detail Orientation: Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently.


  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or 4+ years equivalent experience.

  • 5-10 years of previous sales experience with proven track record in commission role

  • Confident and assertive approach with the ability to deal with difficult situations.

  • Ability to network and build trust both internally and externally.

  • Ability to navigate and bring clarity to complex situations.
