English OT
Studying OT in the UK ... Wage here are dire. As low as £18,000 P.A. ... Money not major factor for me, I want to help people and want a job where I can have a positive impact on other people's wellfare. To all my fellow OT's in the UK and beyond I send my heart x Keep doing great things!
Pay is also much higher if
Pay is also much higher if you decide to be a travelling OT.
Sarlary right
My wife recieves 90 a year. I am sure it starts at around 50-60. 75 seems like a good median.
Be prepared
I've been an OT for 30 years and love my profession. Yes we are in demand and the job outlook is great however be prepared in your application process. The clinics are full of "techs" with bachelor degrees, hours of observation, personal references and direct experience with OT's in OT clinics and are not getting into programs!. It's very competitive, keep your GPA high and apply at several schools and prepare yourself well. Good Luck
Salary
Also in OT school - most people I know of who graduated recently have been offered jobs in the mid-southeast (Virginia, Maryland, NC, etc.) for around 60-65+K (generally more than the professors who teach us)
salary
salary is way out of whack, unfortunately
The income reported is
The income reported is usually the median earnings ..so that includes people who have been OTs for 20, 30, etc. years and are usually taken from the US bureau of labor statistics who compile it from a survey. 75k seems reasonable for a median wage, seeing as how I regularly see job offers starting at 50-60k with a raise every year. I am in the pacific northwest though..may differ by region.
is it too high or too low on
is it too high or too low on here? what would you say the true salary is?
